A family run, Highland hotel
in Fort Augustus at the south end of Loch Ness.

If all goes to plan we are opening the hotel on the 1st of August. (No dates for 2021 can be released yet) Please read this before making your booking.
Due to COVID we are implementing a few procedures.
1. All guests are expected to participate in the NHS Scotland, Test and Protect Policy.
We will provide NHS Scotland with the following information if they request it:
Names of everyone in your party and the contact details for thelead person in the group: Telephone Number, Home Address and the Dates of your Stay.
If you or anyone in your group have had symptoms of COVID within 7 days prior to your visit please cancel your reservation.
You must inform NHS Scotland if you develop COVID up to 14 days after your stay.
2. It is preferred that all Bookings are made online as this allows for contactless payment during your stay and also gives us the option to inform you by eMail of any procedures or changes to your Booking. Please include all names of guests on the booking form.
3. To protect you and our team:-
(a) Please use the provided (or your own) hand sanitiser before entering the hotel and when entering the dining room.
(b) we will be implementing Table service only at the Bar/Reception.
(c) Breakfast times will be prebooked to avoid overcrowding and maintain distancing
(d) Bedrooms will only be provided with a light housekeeping service during your stay (You can opt to have no housekeeping if you prefer). Top up of supplies can be requested via reception.
(e) In Scotland face covering must be carried and used in all public areas. Shops, Transport etc
4. Minimum length of stay will be 3 days.
This allows us to concentrate on enhanced cleaning procedures between guests,
Earliest check-in is 3pm on the day of your arrival.
5. Should you or any of party develop:-
A new continuous cough
Loss of / Change in sense of smell or taste.
Please stop your travel and cancel your reservation we do not charge for cancellations.

The Caledonian Hotel is located in the village of Fort Augustus which is nestled between the hills of the Great Glen at the south end of Loch Ness. At the heart of the village is the Caledonian Canal which lies between the river Oich and the river Tarff which feed into the loch. The hotel is within a five minute walk of Loch ness and the canal lock gates as well as other local amenities within the village such as the post office, petrol station, shops, pubs and restaurants.

The hotel is easy to find and sits just off the A82 with off-road parking.
Fort Augustus is the crossroads for all sorts of holiday makers; from hillwalkers to cyclists; car clubs to motor bikers and canoeists to horse riders. Whether you chose to travel by land or water, our prime location is perfect for a Highland getaway. leisurely weekend or travel enthusiasts and outdoor adventurists alike.

Walkers, bikers and cyclists:
If you are travelling by bike, let us know ahead so we can prepare space in the shed for you to lock away your bike at night. We also ask that all wet or muddied outdoor garments are not taken into the rooms. Although we don't offer a laundry service at the hotel, we do make every effort to cater for guests coming to us after a wet day in the hills. We have a drying room for boots and jackets so that you set off on your next day dry and toasty!
